The Sand and The Sting

Walk with me a while

I’ll match your small step with my own

Talk with me, sweet child

I’ll listen now, and when you’re grown

Remember when we walked and talked

And I was there, through sun and rain

And if you need to walk and talk

Please know, I will be there again

We don’t celebrate Christmas, so we went for a walk and a picnic at the beach.

I have written before about why we don’t celebrate Christmas, and we still sing Christmas songs and watch movies and eat cake, but the boy’s know that the winter solstice is our time of celebration and that’s when we bake gingerbread and make winter crafts and have gifts.

In winter.

It just makes more sense if I want them to revere the seasons and the earth. Making snowmen crafts in summer won’t do that.

It can’t possibly make sense.

Anyway, we had planned to spend the whole day at the beach, but Faye was stung by a bee in the sand.

The weather was perfect though: overcast but warm with only the slightest of breezes.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas β™‘
