A Tiny Tale – Lavender

Adam and Merribelle Dewfeather live together at Lavender cottage with their four children: Pennywhistle, Linsong, Hyacinth and Snowdrop. The cottage has a cobbled path leading through the swaying lavender to a white gate and a table, where elves come to trade.

Today, Soren and Annalissa Lichenwell, who live deep in the woods in a hollow log with a blue front door, have come to trade crystals for lavender stems. Annalissa is planning on making lavender and rosemary cookies for a tea party she is hosting.

The harvested lavender has been bundled into groups of two and tied with ribbon. The elves lift the bundles one at a time onto the back of the Lichenwell’s wagon, counting as they go:

“1 times 2 is 2, 2 times 2 is four… ”

** After we have played with the elves, drawn a picture and written out our times tables I think I might make lavender – rosemary cookies to accompany this tale. I will post more photos and a watercolour when it is complete. I do hope you enjoy my posts here. If you do, I will continue to share Tiny Tales each week as we learn ๐Ÿ™‚

My Kindest Regards,

I am a homeschooling mum living in New Zealand. My first elves, Adam and Merribelle, were created last year to teach regrouping to my son. They have been busy since then...
