Song Time -Spring Time

Silken and glistening, song weaves around us and through us, strumming our nerves like nylon strings, sending vibrations from heart to head and back again.

We sing and sing here. We are drawn together by the songs we share. Even Robin, who just turned four, shares his giddy words and rhyme-less rhymes.

It is spring now, so spring songs are being passed up through our memories. This one is by me. I am not a singer. But I am no longer in the habit of letting that stop me.

Summer’s On Her Way

Petals sparkle, drenched with dew, windows gleam, and kitchens, too,

Everything is new and fresh and bright.

Smiles and waves and greetings fly across the street to passersby,

And everyone is all filled up with light.

Summer’s coming, Summer’s coming, the springtime flowers are singing,

All the birds are now returning,

 Summer’s on her way.

Blossoms open, seeds awaken, the tree’s new buds are blooming,

 Springtime raindrops, come a-cleaning,

 For Summer’s on her way.

Ribbons weave around the trees, the blossoms tumble in the breeze,

And elven children laugh in pure delight.

Springtime sun shines down and down and warms the seeds deep underground,

And up and up they push with all their might.

Summer’s coming, Summer’s coming, the springtime flowers are singing,

All the birds are now returning,

 Summer’s on her way.

Blossoms open, seeds awaken, the tree’s new buds are blooming,

 Springtime raindrops, come a-cleaning,

 For Summer’s on her way.
